General Description / Primary Purpose:

As part of a continuing initiative under the Taylor Engineering Research Institute, the Schoolof Engineering at the University of North Florida (UNF) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Coastal or Ocean engineering, as an Assistant Professor or, for qualified candidates, Associate Professor. A research program in coastal or ocean engineering, collegiality, active service, and participation in shared governance in accordance with the vision and mission of the school, college and university are expected. Faculty Position Required Qualifications:

An earned doctorate in a field of engineering with a coastal or oceanographic focus is required. Teaching experience and a commitment to excellence in teaching will be expected of the successful candidate, along with a demonstrated ability to establish/ conduct a productive research program. A pre-employment background check is performed on candidates selected for employment.

Departmental Requirements:

Candidates with research interests in the areas of oceanography or oceanographic engineering or innovative multidisciplinary engineering solutions to complex problems in coastal areas will be preferred. A Professional Engineer license and industrial experience are desired but not necessary.
