We are seeking a Statistics Professor to teach a course of approximately 20-25 students, at the University of Chicago from June 29 to August 9, focused on helping our students further develop the quantitative skills they will need to excel in courses at a selective college. The course will meet between 12-15 hours per week, and will include a combination of professor-led instruction and opportunities for students to engage in hands-on and collaborative work.
The Statistics Professor will be supported by two Assistant Instructors, who may be undergraduate students, graduate students or college faculty that the Statistics Professor selects, with approval from Thrive Scholars staff. The Professor and Assistant Instructors are expected to be present for the entirety of the course time each day, and available for a minimum of 2 hours of office hours during the week.
The Statistics Professor will be expected to participate in an orientation and in course planning before the program begins.
Housing: Room and board will be provided, and covered by Thrive Scholars, for non-local faculty and assistant instructors.
